LED’s Send Message to Space Station
OSRAM Opto-Semiconductors built and donated specially designed LED lights to help more than 400 students, alumni, staff and supporters of the Schulich School of Engineering at the University of Calgary send a message to the International Space Station on September 19, 2009. The six-minute message was delivered as the ISS passed overhead with Canadian Space Agency astronaut and U of C alumnus Dr. Robert Thirsk on board.
